The Razor's Edge

Happily illiteracy has been for all practical purposes wiped out in Cuba.
Sadly though the school system and students past the primary ages for
example over 14 do not advance.
Case in point:
A 14 year old overweight black kid was put in a sports school by his mother.
Her reasoning that activity will keep his weight under control.
Not only did this not work but his education suffered and after two years he
was pulled out / kicked out because he was not competitive material.
So not only did he not make the grade but he missed two years of classroom
education.
Now at 16 he is too stupid to be enrolled in a regular class environment and
his mother put him in a trade school. Since September, he has been going to
school for 3 to 4 hours a day and many weeks he does not go to school on
Mondays or Fridays.
Cuba may have eliminated illiteracy but they are breeding a society of
idiots who don't have basic english, spanish or mathmatic skills.
